Mastercard supports Fideum Group’s plan to integrate cryptocurrency with conventional banking

Mastercard backs Fideum Group's vision to merge crypto with traditional finance

Fintech company Fideum Group has announced a ground-breaking collaboration with traditional payment giant Mastercard to integrate digital assets into everyday financial activities. This partnership has been made possible as a result of Fideum’s success in the Mastercard Lighthouse FINITIV 2023 Fall Program, in which the company emerged as the overall winner.

CEO Anastasija Plotnikova shared in an interview with CryptoSlate that winning the Mastercard Lighthouse FINITIV Program is a validation of the company’s vision and a strong endorsement of the products it aims to develop. This achievement means that Fideum will have the opportunity to work closely with major financial stakeholders, including Mastercard and tier-one Nordic banks like Danske Bank, Swedbank, Seb, and OP Financial Group.

This partnership is seen as a game-changer in the way crypto assets are integrated into the traditional financial industry. Plotnikova firmly believes that working with firms like Mastercard and gaining access to its global infrastructure could reshape the way the industry is perceived. She emphasized that partnering with Mastercard is not just about expanding the network, but also about gaining access to an array of emerging technologies and innovations in the payment and financial services sectors, enabling Fideum to accelerate the integration of new features and capabilities into its platform.

Furthermore, the CEO expressed confidence that this collaboration will transform how digital assets are perceived and used by both retail and institutional clients. She believes that it will set a new standard for accessibility and security in the digital asset space, thereby potentially attracting more institutional clients to work with the company.

Fideum is a fintech company that specializes in building blockchain infrastructure to integrate retail users with financial institutions. The company offers a range of services, including crypto wallet services, decentralized exchange connectivity, and smart contract automation. With four global licenses secured and active advisement of nine regulatory bodies, Fideum’s services are supported in 120 countries. This partnership with Mastercard is expected to open up new opportunities and pave the way for the widespread adoption of digital assets in traditional financial activities.
