Is a $40K Date With a Playboy Playmate Worth it in Solana?

Would You Pay $40K in Solana for a Date With a Playboy Playmate?

Crypto Twitter’s focus can shift swiftly, with new controversial topics displacing previous ones rapidly. However, Jaylene Cook recently captured attention on the timeline for an extended period of time due to her unique offering on Only1, a crypto OnlyFans alternative on the Solana blockchain. Cook made waves by offering three exclusive date spots with her for 250 SOL each, equating to around $36,000 per spot. The top-tier Date Night Pass includes benefits such as 1-on-1 video calls, the possibility of travel arrangements (at the buyer’s expense), a luxury hotel booking, and the status of dating a Playboy Playmate. When a date spot was actually purchased for approximately $41,000 worth of SOL, the buzz around Cook’s offer intensified and continues to be a topic of conversation.

In an exclusive interview with Decrypt, Cook disclosed her reasoning for choosing the Solana platform and expressed her enthusiasm for Only1. Having a background as a former Playboy Playmate, Cook was well-versed in adult entertainment intricacies. She was captivated by Only1 from the outset, especially when Ansem, a prominent Crypto Twitter influencer, collaborated with the platform for an “Ansem’s Angels” initiative to promote Only1.

Cook admired Only1’s distinctive attributes in comparison to conventional platforms like OnlyFans. She appreciated the platform being on-chain, which offers customers genuine privacy. From a creator standpoint, the platform resolves payment processing issues by transferring payments directly to their wallets, granting creators control over their earnings.

Beyond Cook and her viral “Date Night” offer, Only1 reported a transaction volume totaling $62,000 for primary pass sales in the previous two weeks, with Cook’s transaction being the largest. An anonymous subscriber shared that the experience on Only1 feels more authentic than other platforms, attributing it to creators being active in crypto-related spaces.

While she has yet to engage in real-life experiences with fans, Cook expressed openness to such interactions. Despite facing backlash and controversy, she maintained her composure and even introduced her own meme coin, 250SOL, in response to the negativity.

Looking toward the future, Cook hinted at upcoming developments while committing to a strategy of exceeding expectations. As for the individual who purchased the 250 SOL date, their identity remains undisclosed.
