Sunbeam, the second stage in the journey towards decentralized data with Sunrise, has been activated, marking the commencement of the upgrade phase.
Back in October 2023, The Graph ecosystem devised a strategic plan to integrate with the Sunrise of decentralized data. This initiative allowed all hosted service users the option to upgrade their subgraphs to The Graph Network.
The upgrade window is now open and will close on June 12th, making it compulsory for hosted service users to transition their subgraphs to The Graph Network. This transition is supported by newly introduced features including 100,000 free monthly queries and payment options via credit card or GRT. Additionally, gasless scaling for all hosted service subgraphs will be enabled. After the upgrade window closes, hosted service endpoints will become inactive. The process of scaling can be done with just a few clicks, and the decentralized network will enhance the subgraphs quickly.
The Graph plays a crucial role in providing data and insights into the decentralized internet ecosystem. Serving as a decentralized marketplace for subgraphs, The Graph has become the indexing and connection platform for Web3 with blockchain data. Since its inception in 2018, builders have created numerous subgraphs for dApps across over forty blockchains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Celo, Fantom, Gnosis, and Avalanche.
As the demand for data within Web3 continues to grow, The Graph is venturing into new territories by focusing on innovative data solutions and query languages to ensure that the decentralized protocol can cater to every use case, both now and in the future.
The operation of The Graph Network is overseen by The Graph Foundation, which in turn is governed by the Technical Council. The Graph ecosystem consists of various companies such as Edge of Node, StreamingFast, Semiotic Labs, and more, working together to advance decentralized data solutions.
